Birthday Weekend in Miami

I spent my 26 birthday in Miami and it was everything I needed.  I guess the only thing that would have made it better was if I found my princes charming lol.  But it was really a good trip, it gave me much needed rest and an exscape from the stress of running a business.  I swam in the ocean that was foot steps away, ate and drank.  I love Miami and South Beach.  It made me miss it since that is where I wenbt to college and began to really discover myself.  So Miami holds a special place in my heart & I was so happy to be back!!!!

Ny Summer Jam 2011 June 5

It was a full line up with Lil Wayne as the Head liner also Rick ross, Waka Flocka, Dipset, Wiz Kalif from Pittsburgh (my home town), Busta who always does a good show and more! It was packed and a great day for a out door concert.  The guys and ladies were out having a good time.

Working @ Nicki's Beauty Bar 1st Annual Pittsburgh Rip the Runway Fashion Show

I worked the 1st Annual Pittsburgh Rip the Runway Fashion Show, which had special guest Lloyd, Miguel, & Eva Pigford.  It was a really fun event and I was so happy that I could be a part of it.  Nicki's Beauty Bar styled the models with accessories and had a table set up so guest could indulge in all the Banging accessories from the show.  I soooo enjoyed mingling with the guest & talking fashion.  Below are some pics!!!

These are some pics that my sis took while breaking from the hectic work @ a fashion show we accessorized.  It was so fun but exhauting.  We had to run around and make sure we had each lady with just the right amount of accessories and make their clothing pop. We also had to make sure the items did not come up broken or missing so it was a big job!!! 

Nicki Minaj hair

    I seen this pic of Nicki & actually liked her hair this time it's crazy but I love it specially with this make-up.  I most of the time don't like her style even though I do like her music, and hustle.  She is always grinding and now part of the new Ice Age movie coming out in 2010.  She also made the Forbes list in the top 20 money making rappers.  She is the 1st female rapper to make it in the top 20, so big-ups to Nicki.

Nicki's Beauty Bar QR Code

This week I got some of the things done on my to do list for Nicki's Beauty Bar.  One of the major things was getting a QR code.  You could download the app using an android phone or i phone @ gettag.com and when you take a pic of a QR code it will direct you to their page.  Give it a try with mine!!!

Re-civilize yourself because your hair is too nappy

While reading a blog I came across a post showing how Nivea put out this ad for a new product.  A black man running with a kinkiy hair doll head with a beard.  Sometimes I think could these things come from intelligent people.  What is un-civil about kinky hair, maybe not white collar but to say re-civilize.  Disturbing that they are so crazy to think this is okay (we know how they really feel lol)...but thank goodness plenty of people have enough sense to object.  SN: I thought it was Reggie Bush.

Indian Remi Body wave

Hey Dolls

Above are some pics of the Janet Indi remi Body Wave.  Which is a very mild wave (best when washed & conditioned) the waves come through a lot smoother and shinier! I really like this hair it last me about 6 to 8 weeks.  I am not the best with weave I try I really do to keep it really nice but idk.  I don't put a lot of product on it, try my best to remember to put a head scarf on & so on.  But I can't say I'm the worst @ maintaining it because it does look okay tell I take it out.  But this hair comes straight and waves when wet.  You could flat iron it back straight after wet and is not that hard to do.  With a 1 out of 5 I would give it a 4!  The only reason is because it does have some very little shedding and after a while I did experience so tangles and matting.

A week wind down

Hey All
I am going to try to do a week review of what I did to continue working on growing Nicki's Beauty Bar.  I see why when people start a business that they are patient about they call it their baby.  Because Nicki's Beauty Bar is definitely mind, I live, eat, & sleep Nicki's Beauty Bar.  So this week I actually started a part time job that I can make my own schedule as I need.  That was important for me because when starting a small business things fluctaute.  Most businesses don't come in the door with a large clientle so you have to work for it and be patient.  I have been working on getting my name out there for a year now and have a good word of mouth recognition.  So I now do by appointment or @ least a phone call to come check out my boutique.  It is very hard to just sit somehwhere and not know if just 1 person is going to walk thru that door.  I would start thinking of my bills and if tomoorw would be different (thats just being real).  So that is what brought me to getting my part-time job and I'm happy about it, there's nothing like a steady pay check.  But don't get me wrong there is NOTHING like owning your own.  So that is what was going on this week, I did a video and I new lipstick. Keisha Cole New Do

I am a Keisha fan I like her swag and sweet but still real attitude.  Recently I seen this pic of her and way diffeent for her hair style.  It looks a lil childish to me but I do still like it.  Hey you are as young as you feel and clearly she is feeling very youthful and happy so I'm all for it.  I do love her top that she is wearing I would def rock that!!!
